This notice explains what personal information Online Business Builder collects when you use this website or our service, why we collect it, and what your rights are. We keep it short and in plain English. If anything is unclear, call us on 03333 604 102.

Who we are

Online Business Builder, Eastham Hall, Eastham, Cheshire, CH62 0AF. We are the data controller for the information described here.

What we collect and why

We only collect what we need to respond to you and to run the service.

  • When you ask for a free Google profile review, we collect your name, business name, the area you serve, your email address and, if you give it, your website or Google profile link. We use these to prepare the review and send it to you.
  • When you book a call, our booking page collects your name, email address and phone number so we can hold the appointment and contact you about it.
  • When you sign up, we collect your name, business details, contact details and the information we need to build your website and manage your Google Business Profile. Card payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
  • When you visit this website, our hosting provider records standard technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. This is used to keep the site running and secure. We do not use advertising cookies or tracking pixels on this page.

Our lawful basis

When you ask us for something, such as a review or a call, we process your details because you have asked us to and it is in our legitimate interest to reply. When you become a client, we process your details to perform our contract with you. We keep accounting records because the law requires it.

Who we share it with

We share your information only with the suppliers we need to deliver the service, and only what they need to do their job:

  • Stripe, to take payments.
  • Our website hosting and email providers, to run this site and communicate with you.
  • Google, when we manage your Google Business Profile on your behalf.
  • Our accountants, for the records we are required to keep.

We do not sell your information and we do not pass it to anyone for their own marketing.

How long we keep it

If you ask for a review or a call and do not go further, we delete your details within 12 months. If you become a client, we keep your details for as long as you are a client and for six years afterwards, which is how long we are required to keep financial records.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask us to show you the information we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or stop using it. To do any of these, call 03333 604 102 or write to the address above. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.

Changes to this notice

If we change how we use your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top.
